Okay! A little Fae 101 for you all. Under no circumstances should you ever give anyone your full name ever. Fae do weird stuff with names, so if you don't want it being used against you, keep whatever you most identify with to yourself. ...although sometimes even then it's not guaranteed they won't just pull it out of your head.

Anyway, I figure someone should say something to that effect since we don't know who all we're dealing with, and I don't like the general radio silence.

Day has been on too many screens in his life to be comfortable with video, but texting he can do. Should practice that more anyway.

"I'd add 'don't eat their food' but we don't exactly have a choice there. The food replicator added a very foul smelling thing too, no idea what is up with that.

What I've always wondered though - how do they define names? Do they care only about my legal one? My currently legal one? Or does it depend on what name I consider mine?

The name thing... I think it's your given one. It's...not pleasant, when they say it, if they're malicious enough. Maybe ask Maya about it for specifics, I'm not sure otherwise.

I'm not sure what to make of the uh, roaming. Thing. Normally I am not this hyperaware of such, but something's been bothering me for the past few days now and I am not sure what to make of it.

Gross... I was already getting a little sick of pumpkin but that just sounds unpleasant. I am uncertain about making use of the replicator now.

Like I said, check with Maya. She'd be the resident expert, I think.

[Donnie's not sure what all the former fae princess had told anyone about her background, but he's certainly not going to spill the details if she hasn't. She'd helped him immensely, and while he knows it's not good to make yourself indebted to fae, she hadn't counted it as such for his sake.]

Mmmf. I haven't even tried opening them yet so no big worries there...

And in any other situation he'd insist on opening them to get some fresh air in, but... not right now.

But he falls silent all the same, unsure what to say. Perhaps wondering what it said about him and the company he kept.]

Silence is preferable to questions he'd rather not answer.

Oh. Yeah, better to just avoid conversations on that topic with her.

[He could say more, because he thinks, at least from what he'd heard from the Hunt, that even Day had a better chance at life than Maya would have ever had. But that's not his story to tell.]

He just... avoids conflict, a little, so they haven't exactly talked since. It's a luxury he didn't have before, to just walk away from a fight before it gets worse.

I think she'd try to understand if you gave her the chance. But otherwise, she can't help but know what she knows.

[But staying on this subject isn't going to make things better, and Donnie's not sure why he has to be the one defending people's reputations, not when they really aren't that great.]

Really not Donnies fault their respective pasts grind against each other so. He'd change it, if he knew how.

Man...I really wish we had a guide on the ones here. In some ways they're really different from the ones at home, and in a lot of other ways they're completely the same...

It would make it a lot easier to know what works and what doesn't...

It is totally cheating. To be fair, it wasn't a Fae that did that, but a human under Fae servitude. I actually don't know if Fae can do that sort of thing but they have ways around and will exploit every loophole they find.

Given their unknown origin I'm still hesitant to say they're even doing that, unless Fae tech is just plain crappy in general.

Possibly. I haven't gotten to explore too much yet. But also, if you find any junk lying around, I can just...transmute it.
